Based on the concept of the Minister of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms Honourable Minister Chandrasiri Gajadeera, the sixteen inmates of the Welikada prison prepared a Historic New Year Greeting card, the progress of this creation was supervised by Mr.A. Dissanayake, Secretary to the Ministry of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms and Mr. P.W.Kodippili Commissioner General of Prisons. Mrs. Thamara Damayanthi, Art Teacher in Ananda College was helped for this creation.
This is the largest Greeting Card which created upto now and it is spread the magnificence of Sri Lanka form the arrival of the King Wijaya upto construction of Southern High way.
The Historic New Year Greeting card was presented at Temple Trees on the 23rd of December 2011 which was admired and greatly appreciated by His Excellency the President.
