The training course of newly recruited Class 11 Jailors and Class 11 Welfare Officers were commenced on 01.09.2011. The passing out Parade was held on 23.12.2011 after having the training for nearly four months under the themes of Administration Affairs relevant to the services, Departmental Standing Orders and Ordinance, Leadership and Building up Teams, Management, Attitude Development, Squad Drill, Criminology and Rehabilitation Affairs. The passing out parade of 55th Batch of newly recruited Class 11 Jailors and certificate awarding ceremony of 40 newly recruited Class 11 Welfare Officers were held with presided by the Hon. Mr. Chandrasiri Gajadeera the Minister of Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms with the participation of Mr. A.Dissanayake the Secretary of the Ministry and Mr. P.W. Kodippli, the Commissioner General of Prisons.

On this occasion the newly recruited Class 11 Jailor Mr. R.M.E.M.Ratnayake was awarded as the out shining recruit Jailor and the honour certificate was awarded by Class 11 Welfare Officer Mr. U.A.S.T.Kumarasiri as the most outstanding personal of the Class 11 Welfare batch.
